Christine Bloom founded Hedge in 2013 with the mission to bring design to the outdoors. After a couple of years immersed in landscape design, she developed a passion for garden inspired floral arrangements and transitioned into bringing nature indoors with a boutique floral design studio.
Christine is a graduate of the New York Botanical Garden in landscape design and floral design. Always on the lookout for opportunities to develop her skills, she takes regular workshops - whether with master floral designers (including Catherine Muller, Christian Tortu and Ariella Chezar) or in other areas of design.
Christine loves to blend the subtle colors, shapes and textures of nature in all her work. She instinctively adds a touch of that certain “je ne sais quoi” from her native France.
In exploring creative ways to bring nature close, Christine sees the whole arrangement as a living, sculptural composition. She gives the container as much attention as the floral content. Christine uses natural materials -- often locally foraged -- in all aspects of her creations. Nature leads the way as much in Christine's personal life as in her floral work.
Hedge has created floral designs in state: at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel, the Stamford Yacht Club, the Village Stamford, the Waveny House in New Canaan, Candlelight Farm Inn in New Milford, the Keeler Tavern Museum in Ridgefield - as well as out of state: the Art Factory in Paterson NJ, the Taconic Ridge Farm in Hillsdale NY, and numerous houses of worship throughout the Tri-State.
